Coast Guard Rescues Crew From Grounded Fishing Vessel Near Unalaska Island in Bering Sea
Last Thursday afternoon, a US Coast Guard Jayhawk helicopter from Kodiak Island hoisted a crew of five from the 58-foot F/V Ocean Bay, which was taking on water after grounding near Umnak Island’s north shore, just southwest of Unalaska Island.
The incident began at 4:45 that day, when the Ocean Bay called for help after running aground and taking on water.
