Japan's Salmon Imports Increased 18% to 24,987 Tons in February, 15% to JPY 33.5 Billion

According to trade statistics from the Ministry of Finance, February imports of fresh and frozen salmon and trout increased by 18% year-on-year to 24,987 tons, and their value increased by 16% to 33.5 billion yen ($211.5 million). Imports of key items, such as frozen Chilean coho salmon and frozen Russian sockeye salmon, increased, Minato Shimbun reported.
