Dock Fire at Whittier's $80M Cruise Ship Dock Declared by Alaska Fire Marshal a 'Total Loss'

A fire that started Monday on the $80 million cruise ship terminal in Whittier and burned for 12 hours has been declared “a total loss,” according to Austin McDaniel, spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety, which includes the fire marshal’s office.
