FAO Fish Price Index Up 5.9% This Year in November 2017 Food Outlook Report

On Thursday the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) released their November 2017 Food Outlook report, a biannual publication that sheds light on developments affecting global food and feed markets.
The latest report reveals that global production of fish and fishery products is “expected to expand by 2.3% in 2017” and that the aquaculture sector is “estimated to be the world’s primary source of fish for all purposes within five years.” But the biggest takeaway from the Food Outlook is that there has been a 5.9% change in 2017 over 2016 for FAO’s Fish Price Index ...
