Cermaq Suspends ASC Label on Tofino Salmon in Response to Protests

Salmon sold in grocery stores that was raised at certain fish farms near Tofino, B.C., won't be sporting one of the industry's top eco-friendly labels.
Cermaq Canada, which operates several fish farms in Clayoquot Sound, said it will temporarily stop labelling some of its fish with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) branding, which exists to tell shoppers that it's farmed responsibly.
