Shrimp From Ecuador to Re-Enter Brazil After Over Seven Month Suspension
Ecuadorian shrimp will finally be able to re-enter Brazil after a more than seven month long suspension.
In early 2018 domestic shrimp producers in Brazil called for imports of Ecuador shrimp to be suspended to “avoid risks to human health.” Brazil attorney general Raquel Elias Ferreira Dodge agreed with the request for suspending the imports, saying that continued imports of Ecuadorian shrimp posed environmental risks to Brazil.
