Yurok Tribe, PCFFA File Suit to Protect Klamath Salmon, Fisheries
In the ongoing skirmish over Klamath River water use, the Yurok Tribe and Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations filed a lawsuit against the Bureau of Reclamation and the National Marine Fisheries Service Wednesday. The tribe and PCFFA, represented by Earthjustice, say the low water flows and high salmon disease rates under the federal agency’s new management plan for river are insufficient to protect salmon from disease.
