The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission issued guidelines for oyster mariculture for the state on Thursday. These rules will help develop an oyster growing industry in Texas.
Wild oyster populations in the state are struggling. Overfishing, hurricanes, drought, floods and pollution are behind the populations in the Lone Star state.
