A new survey will help count and track a highly prized and commercially important nearshore rockfish species off Oregon.
Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife researchers are starting a nearly 10-week at-sea survey of black, blue, and deacon rockfish. The crew of four will use scientific fish finders and underwater video cameras to count the fish in this unique fishery-independent survey.
