PERSPECTIVES: Innovative Russian Producer Mag-Sea Enters U.S. Market Using Chartered Vessels

The global supply chain delays in 2021 have been severe due to container shortages and port delays. Major U.S. retailers are being creative and chartering cargo ships, in addition to using containers to mitigate disruptions and delays and to ensure that inventory gets to market. According to the Wall Street Journal, these charter ships are allowing retailers to work around bottlenecks at major ports by delivering to less congested docks in smaller ports.
