Aquaculture Stewardship Council Says Shrimp Standard, RAS Revisions Will Expand Footprint of Program
The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) published revisions to its ASC Shrimp Standard and new requirements for Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) farms which will expand the program's reach.
The revision to the Shrimp Standard will lead to freshwater crayfish and freshwater shrimp farmers having the chance to achieve ASC’s stringent requirements for responsible farming, with the addition of new species. Other updates have been made to the Standard to ensure best practices too.
