Maruha Nichiro's Austral Fisheries Commissions Carbon-Neutral Toothfish Longliner Austral Odyssey
Global food company Maruha Nichiro and their group company Austral Fisheries (AF) announced yesterday the construction of a new 205-foot longline vessel for Patagonian toothfish in Australian waters. The fishery, located 4,000 kilometers from the Australian mainland, is off the coast of Heard Island & McDonald Islands (HIMI) in the Southern Ocean.
The new vessel is designed by Marin Teknikk and will be built by the shipyard Baatbygg AS, both headquartered in Norway. The project is expected to be completed towards the end of 2025 ...
