SEAfood Act Draws Opposition from Fishermen and Environmental Groups
A bill called the SEAfood Act H.R.5944 was introduced October 12 in the US House of Representatives by Nancy Mace (R-FL) with co-sponsors Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) and Chellie Pingree (D-ME).
The bill’s full title is “To require the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to establish an assessment program for offshore aquaculture, to establish Aquaculture Centers of Excellence, to require a study and report, and for other purposes.”
