Two Alaska Native Village Corporations Sue EPA For Using Veto Against Pebble Mine
Yesterday Iliamna Natives Ltd. and Alaskan Peninsula Corporation filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Alaska challenging the Environmental Protection Agency’s January 2023 veto against the Pebble Mine. The suit claims that the authority under which EPA based its decision — Section 404(c) of the Clean Water Act — is unconstitutional.
