Public Comment Opens on Potential Repeal of Controversial Lobster Catch Limits

A rule that would consider repealing a contentious proposal to increase the catch limit size for lobsters in the Gulf of Maine has been approved for public comment by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC)’s American Lobster Management Board.
Draft Addendum XXXII could repeal the gauge and escape vent size limits included in Draft Addendum XXVII.
