91 Gray Whales Reported Dead in Mexican Pacific: Highest Number Since 2020

MEXICO CITY -- The number of gray whales killed in Mexican Pacific waters rose to 91, surpassing the highest record of the "Unusual Mortality Event," reached in 2020, with 88 dead whales.
"This year only 69 births were recorded -- the lowest rate," said Dr. Jorge Urban Ramírez, head of the Marine Mammal Research Program (PRIMMA) of the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS).
