South Carolina's Mace Introduces SHRIMP Act to Combat Shrimp Fraud with Chemical Testing

Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the SHRIMP Act on June 5, directing federal agencies to develop portable, chemical testing technology that can identify the country of origin of shrimp imports.
The legislation represents another push by Gulf Coast lawmakers to target foreign shrimp competition, following the House passage of the bipartisan Save Our Shrimpers Act in May by a 391-18 margin.
