Grieg to Double NL's Farmed Salmon Output With Installation of World's Largest Indoor Hatchery

Grieg’s Canadian salmon farming operation based in Newfoundland announced a plan to build the largest and most advanced indoor salmon hatchery in the world.
The company has selected AMG Norway to build a state-of-the-art hatchery and nursery facility in Marystown, Newfoundland. AMG is a a subsidiary of the Aqua Maof Group, which utilizes a re-circulating aquaculture system.
According to Greig, the hatchery facility will produce 7 million salmon smolt ranging up to 1500 grams. Grieg said it will stock 11 sea-cage sites for the subsequent grow out and harvest of 33,000 annual tons of Atlantic salmon. The overall project investment is estimated at $200M...
