The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed on Saturday that commercial ports in Hawaii – except for Kalamauapau Harbor on Lanai – have been reopened.
The ports closed last week in anticipation of Hurricane Lane. Vessels were ordered to vacate prior to the storm, with the fear that a sunken vessel would limit access of important shipments when the ports were able to be reopened. Many hoped for a “best-case scenario” of only a week disruption ...
