Outlook Better as Massachusetts Tries a 3rd Time to Get Lobster Processing Bill Through Legislature
For three years the Massachusetts Senate has passed a bill sponsored by Sen. Bruce Tarr that would permit lobster processing in Massachusetts. For the past two years, the bill was stymied by the House.
This year proponents have attached the bill to a supplemental budget that has already passed the House, and they hope that in conference they can make the lobster processing bill stick.
Currently wholesale dealers in the state are prohibited from processing or processing unfrozen lobster parts...
