Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe Will Apply for Aquaculture Permit in Strait of Juan de Fuca
Recently rebuffed by the court to reinstate their permit for a net pen operation in Port Angeles Harbor, Cooke Aquaculture Pacific filed for a hearing before the Washington Court of Appeals. Their partner, Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, started thinking about applying for a permit themselves in the same area.
The February 28 Washington Superior Court rejection of Cooke’s lawsuit to reinstate the lease caused a reset moment for the tribe and for the global aquaculture leader.
