Snow Crab Landings Update For the Gulf and NL as of May 17
The snow crab season in Canada is underway. And despite some temporary grid closures due to North Atlantic right whales, crabbers are making good progress with landings.
According to preliminary data for the Gulf of St. Lawrence, as of May 17, 63.48% of the quota has been landed. The initial quota in the Gulf was 28,065.183 metric tons, with a revised quota of 27,690.338 metric tons. A total of 17,718.251 metric tons has been landed so far, with 10,193.696 metric tons remaining...
