New BMW Electric Vehicles to Feature Plastic from Recycle Fishing Nets and Ropes

When car manufacturer BMW releases its Neue Klasse line of electric vehicles in 2025, some parts of the car will be made with plastic from recycled fishing nets and ropes.
Trim parts on the vehicles, made of plastic, will contain around 30 percent recycled fishing nets and ropes. This raw material is proactively sourced at ports all around the world to ensure that it doesn’t end up being discarded in the sea, per BMW Group.
