Japan: December Surimi Production in Hokkaido Halved to 970 Tons

According to a member report compiled by the National Surimi Association, Hokkaido's frozen surimi production volume in December 2022 was 967 tons, down 48% from the same month of the previous year. It was the fourth straight month of decline.

Alaska pollock decreased by 46% to 950 tons, the fourth straight month of decline. According to manufacturer sources, the catch in the Funka Bay area, which is the primary source of raw fish in winter, was less than half of what it was in the same month last year...
