NOAA Announces Decision To Withdraw Proposal To Expand SIMP Following Public Comment Period

NOAA Fisheries announced on Tuesday that they have decided to withdraw the proposed rule to expand the Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP). The proposed rule to expand SIMP, which would have added species and amended regulations to clarify responsibilities and definitions, was initially published in the Federal Register in December 2022.
