January Hokkaido Pollock Surimi Production Plummeted 40% to 530 Tons
The National Surimi Manufacturers Association announced on February 26 that the production of land-based surimi from Hokkaido in January was significantly lower than the previous year for Alaska pollock and Atka mackerel. In December, the production of Alaska pollock surimi increased and returned to positive for the first time in 16 months, but it fell back into negative.
