Florida-based Mical Seafood has initiated an expanded recall of frozen, wild-caught yellowfin Tuna Loins, Tuna Poke, Tuna Steaks, Tuna Ground Meat, and Tuna Saku, because they may have elevated levels of histamine.
The recall expansion was announced on Oct. 15.
High histamine levels in fish products can lead to an allergic reaction of scombroid fish poisoning which can lead to many symptoms including facial swelling, rash, hives, itchy skin and vomiting.
