Yamaguchi Prefecture Fishery Research Center's Success in Horse Clam Farming
The Yamaguchi Prefectural Fisheries Research Center's In-shore Research Department (Yamaguchi City) established the first aquaculture technology for Mirukui (Tresus keenae), also known as horse clam, a high-valued bivalve mollusk, in Japan last year. The Prefecture distributes a set of baskets and juvenile shells for aquaculture as a trial with no charge only to fishers in the Prefecture.
