JAPAN: Surimi Product Exports to the U.S. Down 57% in May
According to the Ministry of Finance trade statistics, the monthly export value of surimi products (excluding fish sausages) in May was 621.83 million yen ($5.82 million), down 12% from the same month of the previous year. The spread of the new coronavirus infection continued to impact exports to the U.S., which was previously the largest export destination.
