Coast Guard Medevacs Severely Injured Fisherman From Vessel Off Unimak Island
Yesterday morning at about 11:30 local time, the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley received a VHF radio call from F/V Magnus Martens requesting an airlift for a crewman who sustained a severe leg injury. The Kodiak-based cutter was on routine patrol in the area north of Unimak Island, where the vessel was fishing.
