Prospect of China’s Domestic Seafood Looks Optimistic this Year
As available statistics show, China’s domestic seafood prices on average have increased by 0.28% in 2020 to 23.27 yuan/kilo compared with the previous year. Though the number looks small, it is comforting considering great damage brought by last year’s coronavirus. And the market prospect also looks rosy in this new year, said an insider.
Among the 49 seafood species included in the relevant market research, 21 of them have enjoyed some price increase. In view of time, some seafood prices have started to skyrocket in the end of last year. For example, one domestic crab was said to have gained greater popularity among consumers, and its price more than doubled at that time.
