Public Comment Period Open on Proposal to Close Commercial Salmon Fishing in the Cook Inlet EEZ
NOAA Fisheries is asking for comments once again on one of the most hotly-contested actions that the North Pacific Fishery Management Council (NPFMC) took last year, the closing of commercial salmon fishing in Cook Inlet’s federal waters.
Federal managers are asking for comments on two proposed rules: first, Amendment 14 to the Council’s salmon fisheries management plan (FMP), adopted more than 40 years ago; and second, the proposed rule from the NPFMC.
