Mexico Receives Green Light to Export Wild Shrimp Into United States
Mexico’s Conapesca (National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries) said the U.S. government has granted certification for Mexican shrimp to again be exported to the U.S. market.
The U.S. determined that Mexico’s program to protect sea turtles through Sea Turtle Excluder Devices (TEDs) in its shrimp fisheries, is comparable to its own protection measures.
The U.S. announced a ban on Mexican shrimp imports on April 30, as SeafoodNews reported.
