FDA Assignment Looks at Salmonella, L. Monocytogenes in RTE Dips and Spreads
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently released their findings from a routine assignment to collect domestic multi-commodity ready-to-eat (RTE) refrigerated dips and spreads to test for Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella spp.
As noted by the FDA, the assignment is part of their risk-based approach to food safety. And the assignment was initiated after a number of outbreaks and recalls that were reported over the past few years.
