Hong Kong customs officials are busy seizing counterfeit items, illicit cigarettes and drugs…and also dried sea cucumbers.
Beginning August 1, Hong Kong Customs and Police have been conducting joint enforcement operations at the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point. Earlier this month agents detected eight suspicious cases which were carrying 18 kilograms of suspected scheduled dried sea cucumbers, as well as 2000 used mobile phones. The total estimated market value of those items is about $700,000.
