Adult Male NARW Entangled In Gulf of St. Lawrence

Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) confirmed on Tuesday that an entangled North Atlantic right whale (NARW) has been spotted in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. An aerial science surveillance team was able to identify the whale as an adult male, #1271, aka Dropcloth. Unfortunately this is not Dropcloth’s first entanglement. Amy Knowlton, a senior scientist at the New England Aquarium says that the adult whale has been entangled at least four previous times.
