Japan’s March Imports of Fresh Trout Increased 2.5 Times, All from Norway
According to trade statistics from the Ministry of Finance, Japan’s total salmon and trout imports for March (including salted, smoked, and prepared products) were 21,029 tons, down 14% from the same month last year. In addition, the CIF import value was 28,306 million yen ($197.07 million), down 2% year-on-year. Non-fillet products were 15,137 tons, down 11%, and fillets were down 21% to 5,892 tons.
