Maoming District Sees Surge in Tilapia Exports in 2015, up 51%

Maoming, located in southwestern Guangdong Province north of Hainan, has seen a major increase in its tilapia exports this year, despite the difficulties reported in other areas.
Maoming's officials say tilapia export value exceeds US$ 200 million in 2015, which is a great increase compared with the year before.
Export companies of aquatic products in Maoming, China have been confronted with such challenges as weak global demand, increasingly great trade barriers in foreign countries as well as rising production cost during 2015.
