Politicians from Oregon, Maine Seek Relief for Commercial Fishermen During Coronavirus Outbreak
Oregon state Rep. David Brock Smith, R-Port Orford, is hoping Gov. Kate Brown and his colleagues assist Oregon residents and businesses by waiving some fees, loan payments and restrictions to help the economy recover from losses due to COVID-19 closures and isolation.
Specifically for commercial fishermen, Brock Smith said they should be granted a waiver of fees and regulations associated with selling fish, crab, shrimp and other seafood from their boats directly to the public.
