NOAA Temporarily Waiving Observer, At-Sea Monitoring Due to Health Concerns
NOAA Fisheries is temporarily waiving the requirement for vessels with Northeast fishing permits to carry a fishery observer or at-sea monitor. The decision comes after a number of complaints were filed by groundfishermen and sector managers, who said that the requirement put their health at risk.
