Following weeks of back and forth, the lobster fishery in LFAs 23, 24 and 26 will open on May 15, lasting until June 30, according to an announcement from Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
“The Government of Canada is taking the necessary steps to ensure that you can continue to operate safely and effectively and we will continue to keep you informed of the latest developments,” the DFO said in a Notice to Fish Harvesters.
