Alaska Pollock Surimi Price Rising Sharply in Japan Due to Tight Supply
The price of Alaska pollock surimi from the US, which is indispensable for paste products, is skyrocketing. Behind this is the impact of the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the poor catch and small size of Alaska pollock, and production has not kept pace with demand. A major domestic supplier told Suisan Keizai Newspaper that "it is likely that it will take time to restore the balance of supply and demand."
