New Report From Norwegian Veterinary Institute Reveals Record Number of Farmed Salmon Deaths New Report From Norwegian Veterinary Institute Reveals Record Number of Farmed Salmon DeathsThe Norwegian Veterinary Institute has released new data this week that reveals a record number of farmed salmon died in 2023. According to Edgar Brun, the Department Director of Fish Health, 62.7 million dead farmed salmon were recorded in the sea phase last year. This figure comes out to a 16.7% mortality rate for farmed salmon in 2023, a slight increase from the 16.1% mortality rate that was recorded in 2022.
