Chile’s SMA Begins Sanctioning Proceedings Against Blumar Following 2023 Overproduction Complaint
Chile’s Superintendency of the Environment (SMA) confirmed late last week that it has initiated a sanctioning procedure against Blumar due to overproduction at the company’s Córdova 1 Salmon Farming Center.
CES Córdova 1 is located on the northern shore of the Córdova estuary, Isla Desolación, commune of Punta Arenas, Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica. The facility can produce 5,875.2 tons through 24 cage rafts that are 30x30x16 meters.
