With the final shrimp import numbers tallied, 2018 was another record setting year, with 1.53 billion pounds of shrimp imported into the United States. This was 4.76 percent above the short lived record of 2017, and nearly 38 percent above the recent low in 2013 as imports bottomed out due to EMS. The top five countries were India, Indonesia, Ecuador, Vietnam, and China. India became the first country to total more than 500 million pounds as the U.S. imported 547,022 million pounds in 2018...
