U.S. Universities Net $10 Million Grant to Accelerate Sustainable Shellfish Aquaculture
A team led by University of Maryland engineers has received a $10 million grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) to accelerate sustainable shellfish aquaculture in the country.
UMD professor Miao Yu will develop new technologies and a sustainable management framework to help shellfish farmers reach economic potential and reap the rewards of environmental benefits of aquaculture.
