Marine Economy Shrinks in 2020, Fisheries and Other Bio-Products Hit $27 Billion in Sales
The U.S. marine economy contributed roughly $361 billion to the country’s gross domestic product in 2022 according to the annual Marine Economy Satellite Account released today by two Department of Commerce agencies, NOAA and the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).
The total is about 5.8% ($23 billion) less than 2019, in real terms (adjusted for inflation), outpacing the general economy’s decline of 3.4%.
