PNA Members Adopt Management Measures for Skipjack Tuna Stocks
Members of the Parties to the Nauru Agreement (PNA) have adopted measures for skipjack tuna in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPO).
The measures were described as a “significant component of the harvest strategy and tropical tuna measure that will be progressed in the coming years” by tuna company Pacifical.
The new deals, adopted at the latest Western Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC), will apply to the catch of purse seine and pole and line fisheries and other commercial fisheries on skipjack in the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs)...
