Iceland: Matorka’s Arctic Char Fish Farm Sustains Some Damage Following Earthquakes

Iceland’s Matorka, which farms Arctic Char in Grindavik, reported this week that earthquakes have damaged their fish farm.

As SeafoodNews previously reported, parts of Iceland have been facing not only threats of volcanic eruptions, but also hundreds of earthquakes. Iceland meteorologists reported 700 earthquakes on Tuesday, with an additional 800 earthquakes reported since midnight Wednesday. Matorka reported on Wednesday that their hometown was hit by several large earthquakes and that their farm situated just outside of Grindavik “sustained some damage.” According to the company, “current conditions remain challenging...
