Pollock Roe Auctions Return High Prices, in Boost to Alaska Companies

The American pollock industry got a welcome whiff of stronger markets as the annual first A season pollock roe auction concluded in Seattle.
Trading and demand was strong, and prices were generally higher than last year. Also volumes improved to about 9000 tons. 7744 tons were bid at the auction, and 1254 tons were sold on private contracts.
Overall value rose to $42 million, vs $24 million last year. But this number is still below what was achieved in 2015...
